Your Riverside Retreat in the Dordogne

We had a fantastic stay and need to mention the English couple who run the property. Their friendliness and attention to detail is second to none. Everything that we could have wanted was already there without the need to ask. We were really made to feel the property was our own during our stay. One morning we were even treated to two hot air balloons flying really low over the garden, so much so that we had a chat with the pilot!

Property is situated on the river bank next to the Dordogne. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious. Croissants, pastries, jams, butter, fresh fruit salad, greek yoghurt & a boiled egg. Tea, coffee and fresh orange juice all served in your room on your private balcony/patio by the amazing hosts Catrina and Mick. There wasn't anything we could fault this accommodation on. The service, location, cleanliness and hosting are all amazing. We enjoyed our first visit here last year so much we returned again this year and have booked for a third visit in 2025

What a small paradise on the banks of the Dordogne! Quiet, well maintained and exceptionally maintained by 2 great hosts Catrina and Mick. Always friendly, always helpful, with many tips to discover the area. They are wholeheartedly committed to making their guests a wonderful and healthful stay.

Beautiful room! Beautiful setting, peaceful and on the river , fantastic and very helpful and kind hosts, Mick and Catrina , nothing too much for them to help. Will definitely stay here again! Cannot recommend Par La Riviere and hosts and enough. Catrina and Mick have been so helpful. Absolutely beautiful accommodation and the most incredible hosts. Quiet, peaceful, on the river and beautiful airconditioned rooms, all just perfect!!!

What a brilliant surprise. This location right alongside the Dordogne river is absolutely stunning and the accommodation (the River View Suite) was incredibly spacious, clean and comfortable ( and a little bit different !) for our 9 night stay. Excellent bath and walkthrough shower, spacious lounge area (all with aircon) and a private sun terrace. Catrina and Mick brought our breakfast each morning and gave us brilliant advice on things to do and visit (Sunday market in St Cyprien is a must). Breakfast was continental style (with amazing croissants from the local Boulangerie in Cenac) but Catrina was more than happy to provide variations as required. Overall, a brilliant place to relax and as a base for exploring. Catrina and Mick could not have been more friendly or helpful for our first visit here - so we are going back again next year !

A fantastically beautiful place in the countryside. A beautiful property with a large pool. Very warm welcome by the sympathetic hosts. Super delicious, lovingly prepared breakfast.

Our hosts got in touch straight away offering suggestions of sights to see and restaurants to go to shortly after booking. We were welcomed very warmly when we arrived with a bottle of champagne as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. It was such a lovely touch! The room was beautifully finished, very clean and inviting. The location is absolutely stunning! We loved our time at Par La Rivière and will definitely be back!

The location is fantastic: a secluded, beautiful place right on the Dordogne located on an idyllic winding road. The main building and the annex are beautifully renovated and comfortable. Both the silence, the view of the adjacent river, the large garden surrounding the pool and the large indoor area offer the feeling of peace and ultimate freedom. The hosts Mick and Catrina are the sweetest people and hard workers. They have received us with great hospitality, and served breakfast every morning (with fresh fruit). Catrina also provided us with a list of the best restaurants in the area that we have used thankfully. In every way, this was exactly the vacation we wanted. We'll definitely be back soon. Highly recommended!

Beautiful stone building right by the river. Loads of space and thoughtfully furnished. Great pool and excellent views. Our hosts were very friendly attentive but not intrusive at all, lovely breakfast every day.

The location was fantastic. Lovely and quiet right at the side of the river with its gorgeous private swimming pool. The grounds were immaculately kept and the rooms were spotless and included everything you would need., such as coffee machine /microwave / kettle and fridge. Catrina and Mike were excellent hosts and provided an excellent breakfast with a smile and good advice as to where to visit. It was lovely to catch up with them every morning and tell them about our travels the day before. They were always genuinely interested. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The best hosts we have ever experienced.

In a beautiful landscape, in a very well-kept park-like area, right on the banks of the Dordogne and yet centrally located main house with annexe in the regional style, extremely tastefully furnished. Very attentive yet discreet care by the super English administrator couple Catrina and Mick. Delicious expanded continental breakfast, capsule coffee machine in the living room, thus flexible coffee possible.

Catrina and Mike received us incredibly well with lots of recommendations to see in the region! We got many amenities like chocolates and wine. It really is an exceptional place, a charming old house on the banks of the River Dore with a wonderful view of the cliffs of Roque-Gageac.

Absolutely everything was IMPECCABLE. If you want a quiet place to redo, this is the place! Right across the river and with the full view of La Roque-Gageac, with lots of charm, comfort, totally renovated and still counting on the efficiency, promptness and the welcome of excellent hosts (Catrina and Mike). We had a setback with our car and ended up arriving much later than expected. Still, they welcomed us with joy and prepared a surprise for my husband's birthday. We will be back!!

Catrina and Mick were fantastic hosts, nothing was too much to ask for and every morning they brought us a delicious breakfast. The location is great for relaxing with views of passing canoes on the dordogne and in the morning and evening hot air balloons. The property was fully equipped and very clean.

A fabulous family visit to the Dordogne, made even better with a gracious welcome from the very best hosts - C&M! This was our second visit and we already cannot wait for the third; the pastoral setting between the walnut grove and the beautiful Dordogne river makes for a relaxing and peaceful experience.
